LPN Unit Manager Responsibilities:

1. Provide leadership and direction to the nursing staff on your assigned unit, including Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and other support personnel.
2. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs are met.
3. Conduct regular rounds to assess resident care needs, monitor treatment plans, and address any issues or concerns promptly.
4. Coordinate and participate in staff training and development programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of nursing staff.
5. Serve as a resource and mentor to LPNs and other nursing staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
6. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to nursing practice and resident care.
7. Participate in quality assurance activities, including audits, performance improvement initiatives, and resident satisfaction surveys.
8. Handle staffing assignments, scheduling, and performance evaluations for nursing staff on your unit.
9. Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and address concerns.
10. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and other department heads to promote a culture of excellence in care delivery and customer service.

LPN Unit Manager Qualifications:

1. Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) in the state.
2. Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
3. Strong clinical assessment skills and knowledge of nursing principles and practices.
4. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
5. Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
6. Proficiency in computer skills and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
7. Commitment to providing compassionate, person-centered care to residents and their families.
