Job Summary:

Enforcing, overseeing, and instructing inventory procedures and strategies for the entire store, encompassing both front-end and pharmacy functions.

  • In charge of overseeing and organizing accurate utilization of system applications and reports that affect front-end and pharmacy prices and product inventory.
  • In charge of enforcing and preserving asset protection techniques in the pharmacy and front end, as well as submitting claims for instances of warehouse and vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged merchandise, including prescriptions.
  • When store management is unavailable, it is the responsibility of certain stores to open and close the store. This includes starting up all necessary systems, completing cashier duties and cash handling requirements, and ensuring the floor and stock room are prepared for the day.
  • Provides a warm welcome and offers aid regarding products and amenities to engage the customers. Additionally, takes charge of resolving customer concerns and inquiries for a delightful experience when acting as a manager at assigned stores.
  • Demonstrates customer service excellence by training team members in interpersonal skills such as greeting customers, maintaining eye contact, and showing courtesy.

Responsibilities:

  • Trains and guides team members on implementing effective inventory management practices in the warehouse, and working with vendors to ensure streamlined operations.
  • The vendor's deliveries are scanned inside the store as soon as they arrive, including those from common carriers. The emphasis is on One Box delivery.
  • All pharmacy shipments received at the store are checked for accuracy by the assistant, under the guidance of the lead pharmacist. To ensure that all received products are accounted for, the assistant completes or verifies the postings of all pharmacy warehouse orders, ABC prescriptions and OTC orders, while also conducting necessary tote audits.
  • On-Shelf Availability (OSA) process is comprehensively performed, covering both warehouse and direct store delivery (DSD) for planned product departments. The disposal, call-ins, and vendor returns are carried out before expiration, ensuring the availability of products on display.
  • With guidance from the head pharmacist, effectively manages pharmacy inventory by performing tasks such as complying with Pharmacy Hazardous Waste Policy during drug recalls, processing vendor returns, and overseeing salvage returns for damaged goods.
  • The individual in this role performs the necessary actions to finalize pricing-related tasks such as modifying prices, reducing prices, and eliminating reduced-price items. The position entails managing fundamental pricing processes within various sections, which include implementing price adjustments daily, maintaining accurate pricing with appropriate signage, and ensuring all other mandatory pricing-related work is finished promptly and competently.
  • This role has the responsibility of aiding the front end and pharmacy ordering processes through ordering various expense items.
  • Keeps track of all specified items to be removed and isolated, making sure to update their inventory and relocate them to the assigned retention zone.
  • Maintains precise record of inventory levels. Ensures the accuracy of on-hand stock quantities across various departments, including stock storage areas and overstock locations.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of on-hand quantities and inventory counts in the pharmacy is a crucial task that falls under the purview of the pharmacist-in-charge's supervision.
  • It is the responsibility of the store to uphold compliance with state and local laws concerning the sale and inventory of regulated items such as tobacco and alcohol.
  • Aids in the upkeep of stock documentation, which involves receiving and recording all items received at the store in the inventory systems on the front-end. Additionally, they sort files and keep all invoices, receipts and other documents necessary for inventory management activities.
  • Assists in the preparation for physical inventory and provides support during inventory day activities. This includes, but is not limited to, organizing the sales floor, stockroom, and pharmacy for inventory and verifying accuracy of inventory count conducted by third-party team.
  • It is crucial to maintain the cleanliness and proper presentation of all counters and shelves.
  • Well-versed in the operation and maintenance of all store machinery and technology.
  • The individual in this role is responsible for coaching and supporting the store team regarding various tasks associated with package delivery, such as scanning packages in and out, performing daily inventory checks, and handling package returns at Walgreens. Additionally, this person helps to ensure the successful execution of the Pickup Program.
  • As the designated leader on duty in certain stores, it is your responsibility to register all sales in the designated point-of-sale system (POS). This includes keeping records of scanning errors, price verification, unlisted items, price changes, and voids. It is also your job to handle product returns, order cancellations, refunds, cash drops, and to provide change when necessary.
  • Adheres to all organizational rules and regulations while cultivating positive relationships with colleagues.
  • Carries out all supplementary tasks and undertakings as instructed.

Additionally, when acting as the designated supervisor, they relay project responsibilities to staff and inform upper management of reprimands or grievances from patrons.

Qualification:

  • A year's worth of familiarity in the retail industry.
  • Proficiency in the English language, encompassing reading, writing and speaking skills, is an essential requirement of this job in all locations, except for Puerto Rico.
  • A strong commitment to being available for a flexible work schedule, which may include working on evenings and weekends, is required.
  • Proven precision and aptitude to juggle multiple tasks while ensuring successful completion.
  • Proficient at recognizing operational challenges and devising effective solutions to overcome them.
  • Prior background as a shift supervisor, pharmacy tech, DH, or customer service representative is desirable.
  • It is essential to possess relevant work experience with Walgreens and to have an existing assessment record.
