Maintenance Technician

We are searching for a reliable apartment maintenance technician to assist the day-to-day running of our apartment building. The apartment maintenance technician's responsibilities include cleaning communal areas, and performing ad hoc painting, electrical, and carpentry duties. As a jack of all trades and an advocate for the community, you should instill in everyone you interact with a sense of pride while resolving tenants' maintenance-related queries and complaints as they arise.

To be successful as an apartment maintenance technician, you should lead by example and demonstrate an organized, thorough approach to your duties and ultimately, an outstanding apartment maintenance technician will remain abreast of technological advances that could facilitate their functions in this role.

Apartment Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

• Oiling doorknobs, locks, hinges, and gates, as required.
• Repairing and unclogging toilets, sinks, bathtubs, showers, and exterior drains.
• Installing and repairing wires, plugs, and switches.
• Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in communal areas.
• Painting communal areas and exterior walls.
• Disposing of trash found in communal areas.
• Tracking inventory to ensure that you have adequate maintenance supplies.
• Ensuring that fire extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, and emergency exits remain in excellent working condition at all times.
• After-hours/on-call 24/7 is required.

Apartment Maintenance Technician Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years prior experience in the trades, facilities, and/or residential building maintenance IS REQUIRED.
• Available to work on weekends/be on call 24/7 2 weeks out of the month, IS REQUIRED.
• HVAC EPA certification w/ 2+ years experience working/replacing HVAC systems is PREFERRED
• Knowledge of risk management, OSHA.
• Basic carpentry, drywall, and painting skills.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds without assistance.
• A safety mindset and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $43,000.00 per year
