Job Description


Contributes strategic vision and serves as the top-level technical contributor for patient care services in the planning, design, development, implementation, functionality and evaluation of integrated clinical information systems that support and enhance clinical practice, administrative and management needs and patient outcomes. Serves as a top level clinical applications consultant and resource with clinical knowledge and computer expertise to coordinate and provide support for all new and current applications and software upgrades applicable to the clinical systems. Consults on major initiatives and projects, including multiple departments, service lines, platforms, and various administrative interfaces regarding the integration of clinical application technology with overall healthcare solutions. Responsible for the analysis, design, testing and implementation of the most complex clinical information systems and solutions. Acts as a subject matter expert on clinical application strategies, procedures, policies, and methodologies. Provides direction and insight to leaders, peers and team members regarding the identification and alignment of strategic clinical systems requirements with evolving business/healthcare opportunities. Recognized across the organization for clinical applications expertise and sought as a source for resolution of unique or the most complex clinical systems problems.


Required Qualifications




  • A college degree in Computer Science, Healthcare, Nursing, Pharmacy, or Allied Health.




  • Must have 6 years of relevant Clinical Applications experience.




  • In addition, must have 6+ years experience in Information Technology and/or a Clinical Area (a combination of both clinical and information technology is highly preferred).




  • Extensive experience interacting with customers to gather and understand their business and technical requirements.




  • Knowledge of systems implementation, which may include analysis, specification design, and implementation.




  • Strong project and process management skills; ability to manage large complex projects/initiatives that involve high risk and great impact for the company.
