Dental Hygienist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing quality oral healthcare to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings, provide preventive care, and educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices.

Responsibilities:
- Perform dental cleanings and remove plaque and tartar from teeth
- Conduct oral cancer screenings and take dental x-rays
- Administer local anesthesia and apply fluoride treatments
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for home care
- Assist the dentist during procedures and perform dental charting
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical history as necessary
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile work environment
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and provide exceptional patient care

Skills:
- Proficiency in dental practice management systems, such as Dentrix, for scheduling and record keeping
- Knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures for accurate insurance claims submission
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Experience with medical imaging equipment for capturing dental x-rays
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of dental anatomy, oral health conditions, and treatment options
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software for creating digital impressions
- Ability to assist the dentist during procedures as needed
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not required
