Essential Job Functions:
- Learn to read and interpret plans and specifications to develop complete and
- accurate takeoffs
- Learn to provide post bid follow up on projects; negotiate scope and pricing with
- clients, provide value engineering and/or scope modifications
- Become current in knowledge of innovations and processes on all electrical
- products
- Learn how to enter accurate takeoffs in Estimating Software
- Learn how to use Bluebeam or on screen takeoff software for all estimates
- Understand what is needed to provide a complete estimate on assigned jobs timely
- and accurately
- Learn how to develop relationships with clients to earn their business
- Understand how to complete budgets timely
- Attend pre-bid walk throughs as required
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Open, honest, direct communication skills
- Very Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to organize and process large volumes of work in a timely manner.
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Computer skills, asystems, minimum of Intermediate level or better
- Able to work in a team environment
- Willingness to learn
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in all low voltage systems, including Telecommunications, Low Voltage Wiring Systems, AV, CCTV, Burglar and Surveillance Systems.
Position Responsibilities:
- Learn material pricing
- Understand labor units
- Understand all bid forms
- Acknowledge all pre-bid correspondence, ie: RFI s, confirmatory correspondence,
- and scope
- Learn what an addendum is
- Understand the role of purchasing in the estimating process
- Attend a war room GC bid
- Learn the difference between a 149 and 149A project
- Understand the importance of the communication between the low voltage and
- the electrical estimators to ensure the bid is complete and accurate
- Learn what a Blue Sheet is
- Understand Hours per page and the importance of being able to complete the
- task
- Attend all in house and local product trainings that are related to electrical
- products
- Attend job start up meetings on awarded work
- Additional duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
