Job Description: Machine Maintenance Technician

We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Machine Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and upkeep of machinery and equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.

Responsibilities:

1. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection, to ensure the proper functioning of machinery and equipment. Follow maintenance schedules and checklists to perform preventive maintenance and minimize the risk of breakdowns.

2. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with machinery and equipment. Use diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical manuals to identify root causes of problems and implement effective solutions.

3. Repairs and Replacements: Conduct repairs and replacements on machine components, such as motors, belts, bearings, and sensors. Disassemble and reassemble equipment as needed to access and replace faulty parts. Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs.

4. Adjustments and Calibration: Make adjustments and calibrations to machinery and equipment to optimize performance and ensure accuracy. Adjust settings, alignments, and clearances according to manufacturer specifications and performance requirements.

5. Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in all maintenance activities. Identify and address safety hazards, such as machine guarding issues, electrical hazards, and ergonomic risks. Promote a culture of safety and adherence to safety protocols among team members.

6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and equipment histories. Document equipment specifications, parts inventory, and maintenance procedures for reference and future maintenance needs.

7. Training and Support: Provide training and support to operators and other maintenance personnel on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols. Share knowledge and expertise to build a skilled and competent maintenance team.

Requirements:

1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.

2. Experience: Previous experience in machine maintenance, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred. Familiarity with a variety of machinery and equipment types.

3. Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

4. Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex issues and develop practical solutions. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet maintenance objectives.
