We're searching for an Assistant Retail Supervisor - Training whose responsibilities would include taking on significant store management duties such as supervising day-to-day store tasks, ensuring optimal store performance, scheduling staff shifts, devising operational plans, and identifying opportunities for staff training and development.
Responsibilities of Assistant Retail Supervisor - Training:

- Assists the head of department in formulating and executing action plans to improve business results
- Communicates to their subordinates their job roles and duties, as well as the standards of performance and expectations, to promote mutual understanding and successful outcomes

- Following strict inventory procedures, product handling guidelines, and cash control policies is essential to minimizing losses in a store
- In the absence of their supervisor, they take charge of handling and resolving customer issues, ensuring their satisfaction
- Discovers and resolves hazardous circumstances, ensuring proper ergonomics, and keeping the store's equipment maintained and functioning correctly
- Maintains a neat and organized stockroom to maximize efficiency and productivity in the store
- Collaborates with the supervisor to ensure proper stock levels by placing orders according to requirements
- Places the goods in a tidy and attractive manner to boost profitability
- Implements strict guidelines to maintain the freshness and quality of the merchandise offered for sale, while ensuring that product information on signage is accurate and up-to-date
- Works alongside the store manager to achieve the store payroll and total loss goals, conducts stocktaking activities, and helps with the training of new team members
- Coordinates and supervises the day-to-day tasks of their staff, escalating any difficulties to the appropriate level of support or management when necessary
- Ensures that direct reports fulfill their responsibilities expediently and effectively, thereby delivering the highest level of customer service for the organization
- Maintains the privacy and safety of sensitive documents and data while following the company's established policies and procedures
- In some cases, other duties as assigned may refer to additional responsibilities that aren't included in the employee's original job description. These could range from managing a project to training new employees or representing the company at industry events
Physical Demands of Assistant Retail Supervisor - Training:
- Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving; ability to place product, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelving at various heights
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store
Qualifications of Assistant Retail Supervisor - Training:
- Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others
- Ability to understand and apply management principles concerning budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses
- Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
- Ability to safely and properly operate equipment, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler and perform general cleaning duties to company standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner, following instructions and giving attention to detail
- Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
- A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
- Prior management experience preferred
- You must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role at ALDI
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Ability to provide and lead others to provide prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication that enhances the growth and job performance of direct reports
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
- Ability to establish goals, guide employee performance to ensure the quality and completion of work assignments
