We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in Americas at Plantation, Florida.
Job Purpose:
Help achieve the IRM vision of being the highest performance shared service provision within DHL, while contributing added value to the group. This role is responsible for applying professional cargo claims knowledge, administration, and processing claims with IRM Shared Service. You must be able to work in a high volume environment and Cargo experience highly preferred.
The Cargo Claims Handler is expected to make independent decisions regarding the disposition (deny/settle/negotiate) of cargo claims. This is not a data entry or administrative role.
Your Tasks:
- Monitor claims intake mailbox and claims portal, analyze information, and enter data to initiate claims investigations
- Create reports and coordinate monthly phone calls with external and internal customers to track claims and identify obstacles to timely claims resolution
- Communicate requests for further information, denials and findings to claimant based on independent evaluation of the claim
- Maintain knowledge of claims procedures, SOPs, customer & carrier contracts to ensure claims are adjusted accurately and timely
- Manage relationships with internal DHL Global Forwarding business partners to ensure claims management supports their goals and business strategy.
- Your stakeholders are GBS IRM Claims Management; DHL Global Forwarding and other business units; and External customers and claimants
Your Profile:
- Bachelor Degree (Preferred) or equivalent claims experience
- 1+ years of cargo claims handling (Preferred)
- Experience in Logistics (Preferred)
- Experience working with a Risk Management Information System (Preferred)
- Knowledge of insurance programs with insurance deductibles
- Knowledge on how to apply process improvements
- Understands claim contract language and insurance policy language
