School BCBA Opening
Blazer Jobs is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our team for the current school year in Pittsburgh, PA. This full-time, contract position is based in a school setting and offers the opportunity to work with students with special education needs and their families. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in applied behavior analysis and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the underlying functions of challenging behaviors exhibited by students.
- Develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on assessment findings and evidence-based practices.
- Implement behavior intervention strategies aimed at reducing challenging behaviors and promoting skill acquisition in areas such as communication, socialization, and adaptive behavior.
- Collaborate closely with school personnel, including teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators, to ensure the consistent implementation of behavior support plans across various settings within the school environment.
- Provide ongoing training and support to school staff and families on behavior management techniques, data collection procedures, and effective intervention strategies.
- Utilize data collection and analysis techniques to monitor student progress and make data-driven decisions regarding the effectiveness of interventions.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, including Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, to contribute to the development of comprehensive educational plans for students with special needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including progress reports, behavior logs, and other required paperwork, in compliance with local and state regulations.
Requirements:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing.
- Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a BCBA in a school-based setting, with a preference for experience with special education students.
- Thorough knowledge of local and state regulations governing special education services and behavior analysis practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including students, families, and school personnel.
- Experience conducting functional behavior assessments and developing behavior intervention plans.
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis methods, with familiarity with relevant software programs.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting best practices in behavior analysis and special education.
