Wound Care / Infection Control Nurse

Centers Health Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Wound Care / Infection Control Nurse to join our team. As a Wound Care / Infection Control Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of our residents by providing specialized wound care and ensuring infection control measures are implemented effectively.

Nurse Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate wound care treatments for residents with complex wound issues.
• Provide expert consultation and education to nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members on wound care best practices and infection control measures.
• Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.
• Conduct regular audits and surveillance to identify potential infection control issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for residents with infectious conditions.
• Serve as a resource for staff regarding infection prevention and control measures, including proper hand hygiene, isolation protocols, and personal protective equipment (PPE) use.
• Maintain accurate documentation of wound care treatments and infection control measures in resident records.

Nurse Requirements:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Certification in Wound Care (WOCN, WCC, or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in wound care and/or infection control in a healthcare setting, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
• Strong knowledge of wound care principles, wound assessment, and treatment modalities.
• Expertise in infection control practices, including surveillance, prevention, and outbreak management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and train staff effectively.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and quality care.
