How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

This Portland (PDX) based Sales Account Executive will be responsible for growing existing business predominantly within the PDX and PNW region. This Sales Account Executive is responsible for growing global revenues and markets share, focusing on premium revenue, with Delta's corporate accounts. The role will be responsible for handling the PDX market of community partners, sponsors, and corporate accounts.

Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

  • Driven candidates will have a strong sales background including confirmed results in the following: new business development, client management, critical and analytical analysis, public speaking and executive engagement
  • Driven candidates will have a strong strategic planning background with proven experience identifying market opportunities and limitations, generating feasible impactful recommendations, and implementing these solutions into market
  • Must be comfortable and highly effective working predominantly remotely in PDX, with frequent travel within the PNW and beyond. Frequent work within the Bellevue Sales office may also be required
  • The Sales Account Executive is responsible for growing and increasing revenue and market share with Delta's corporate and agency customers
  • Primary responsibilities include taking a consultative approach toward building, maintaining, and leading agency and corporate relationships, contract negotiation, implementation, performance evaluation, and maintenance of agreements across key customer contacts
  • This position involves significant community engagement, representing Delta and JV partners at local organizations and events, as well as crafting strategic approaches on how to collaborate with local partners to achieve mutual goals
  • This position collaborates with Sales Development teams to formulate sales strategies and programs. Additionally, coordination and team selling with alliance partners is required
  • The Sales Account Executive will plan account strategies based on Delta Flight Plan and Global Sales plans
  • Position requires frequent business travel, both domestic and international, as well as some work during evenings and weekends

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

    • Minimum of 2 years sales and account management experience is required
  • Strong orientation towards consultative account management and understanding of how to build and maintain profitable business relationships with assigned accounts
  • Proven strategic planning experience is helpful
  • Excellent interpersonal and business decision making skills are required
  • Shown analytical skills and ability to produce action plans based on data and market intelligence.
  • Must be able to handle change with resilience and display tremendous drive and dedication
  • Strong skills in written and verbal communications, negotiation, time management, planning and presentation
  • Proven leadership capabilities and ability to disseminate information professionally according to Delta values.
  • Must be available to work additional hours and/or days as needed, including weekends.
  • Must be able and willing to travel both domestically and internationally.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related fields preferred.
  • Airline, corporate travel management, or travel proven experience preferred.
