Job Summary:

The position of Staff Cyber Security Lab Engineer at DISH offers a unique opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced individual to make a significant contribution to the development of our smart network. Your expertise will play a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity of our 5G wireless network against any potential cyber threats.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Evaluate the security capabilities of newly-developed ORAN hardware and software using well-established security testing tools such as Keysight, Viavi, and Tenable.
• Scrutinize the security testing process used in the ORCID Open RAN (ORAN) setting and confirm conformity with established security measures.
• Inspect the methods used for collecting, storing, and analyzing the logs to ensure they align with the current security frameworks.
• Collaborate closely with Security Analysts and Architects on security threats and incident response planning.
• Provide ORCID clients detailed reports highlighting any vulnerabilities detected and suggest remediation steps.
• Continuous security awareness training is another consideration to ensure that all users are aware of the importance of security and their role in maintaining a secure network.
• Undertake diagnostic analyses, evaluate threat information, and respond effectively to data threats in order to mitigate risks and remain updated on new cyber threats.

Qualifications and Experience:

Fulfilling the requirements of this position requires a particular set of experiences and skills:

• To be eligible for this role, candidates need to have completed a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical field. They must also have at least 8 years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Information Security, or Risk Management.
• The perfect candidate for the security operations position is one who has 7 or more years of experience in enhancing and sustaining security tools.
• The job requires a cloud certification such as CISSP, GIAC, or any other certification outside these that holds the same value.
• Proficient in utilizing security safeguards, interpreting the threat environment, and working with the NIST 800-53 Control Framework.
• Analytical capabilities, data-focused decision-making expertise, and efficient project management skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the capability to work autonomously.
