Production Engineering Associate Manager, Plastics
Tesla Plastics department is looking for a self-driven Production Associate Manager. The Production Associate Manager must have a proven record of high work place safety, integrity and strong moral character. He or she must understand and know how to deliver a quality product while driving high levels of productivity. Candidate must be able to support the next process with strong well organized communications and fast resolution of daily production issues.
You need to be able to work day shift, night shift and weekends when required.
- Manage, mentor and lead Injection Molding Process Engineering and Production Teams
- Take on responsibility for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations.
- Own, report on and drive improvement of area KPI's including equipment availability, product yield, cycle time and cost working with Maintenance and Tool and Die teams.
- Make daily build plan and resource allocation decisions, balancing competing priorities, to serve the needs of the engineering, maintenance, Tool and Die and production teams.
- Serve as backup engineer in order to ensure zero gaps as well as adequately address issues of escalating complexity.
- Collaborate with MFG engineering, NPI and controls teams to install and debug new processes and equipment
- Develop and sustain Business intelligence dashboards to monitor and report production and Quality metrics with the BI team
- Work with Production control (internal conveyance) to ensure smooth material flow
- Monitor raw material supply with production planning to ensure on time deliveries and avoid material shortages.
- BS or MS degree in an engineering discipline
- Experience leading teams within heavily automated, high volume manufacturing facilities, including but not limited to Injection Molding, Assembly etc.
- Exemplary track record of high impact contributions both as an individual engineer and in a management capacity
- Hands on experience with lean manufacturing principles
- Demonstrated ability to meet commitments and deliver results in a fast-paced technical manufacturing environment
- Ability to manage and execute multiple large-scale projects simultaneously, dynamically adjusting priorities to meet changing business needs
- Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal
- Experience with application and teaching of structured problem-solving methodology, such as DOE, root cause analysis, etc
- Experience with mechanical, automation, and controls engineering is highly preferred
- Auto CAD for layouts
- Minitab for quality analysis
- Microsoft office suite
- ERP understanding
