Position Summary:
The HCT in Training will participate in a total of 8 weeks of training in preparation for work as a Carle Healthcare Technician. Will attend class and clinical session for six weeks. Train alongside Carle Healthcare Technician for two weeks to practice on the job skills. Successfully transition to HCT position in inpatient setting.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS H.S. Diploma/GED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Basic Life Support (BLS) SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Attendance at all training sessions and clinical rotations is required. Candidates must demonstrate high level of integrity and accountability.
Essential Functions:
- Attends HCT training classes and clinical sessions
- Measure patient vital signs
- Provide excellent hygiene care to patients
- Assist with ambulation and mobility
- Attend HCT training classes and clinical sessions
- Work under the direction of classroom facilitator during clinical sessions
- Performs or assists patients with activities of daily living.
- As directed by the registered nurse, collects and documents data accurately and timely.
- Demonstrates competency in skills outlined in competency modules including: measurement of vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, and measuring and recording intake and output.
- Stocks nurse servers when able on clinical unit sites.
- Completes all mandatory training and competency modules.
