Job Description:

Orders, replenishes and merchandises prepared foods products and participates in regional programs for purchasing and promotions. Monitors inventory control and replenishes product. Assists in organizing and developing promotional displays and maintaining OTS standards. All Whole Foods Market Retail jobs require ensuring a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times. All positions must be performed in accordance with team and store Standard Operating Procedures. Further, Team Members must be prepared and able to perform the duties inherent in other Team Member job descriptions. All positions must strive to support WFM core values and goals, promote national, regional, and store programs and initiatives, and ensure adherence to all applicable health and safety regulations including Food Safety and regulatory duties required in the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Procures and replaces food items for kitchen use through proper procurement methods.
  • Responds to open PO and credit reports with careful attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
  • By executing effective control measures, the specialist can prevent spoilage and reduce shrinkage, while also ensuring that turn goals are met.
  • Provides accurate information on spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Delivers aid in both counter service and cooking duties following the set timetable or as demanded.
  • Keeps communication lines open with the Kitchen Manager/Chef and Team Leader to address procurement concerns and challenges.
  • Develops and fosters strong, professional ties with vendors.
  • Partners with the Team Leader or Assistant Team Leader(s) to calculate the cost of the recipe.
  • Executes the protocol for processing and delivering unique client orders from overseas.
  • Provides support to leaders for inventory control.
  • The ability to meet or even exceed purchasing and sales targets is vital in maintaining financial profitability.
